Monday night, President Joe Biden signed the COVID-19 Origin Act of 2023 from U.S. Senators Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) and Mike Braun (R-Ind.), a bill requiring the Biden administration to declassify intelligence related to any potential links between the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) and the origins of the COVID pandemic.
Senators Hawley and Braun’s COVID-19 Origin Act of 2021 passed the Senate unanimously in May 2021.
It passed the U.S. Senate and U.S. House of Representatives unanimously earlier this month.
Senator Braun said, “President Biden made the right choice to sign Senator Josh Hawley’s and my bill to declassify all intel about the Wuhan lab and the origins of COVID. The American people deserve more than spin and ‘the narrative’ - they deserve the facts, and now more are on the way.”
Following the COVID Origin Act being signed into law, Senator Mike Braun released a video on Wednesday calling on President Biden to declassify the material and release it now.
The law requires the Director of National Intelligence to declassify all intelligence related to the Wuhan Institute of Virology and the origins of the virus that causes COVID within 90 days of the bill being signed. Senator Braun is calling for the President to not use the full 90 days and instead release it all now.
