Plymouth Police arrested a Lakeville man hiding in an apartment at 1291 Baker Street on April 1st after being dispatched to a domestic altercation.
Tuesday morning, at approximately 01:45, officers from the Plymouth Police Department were dispatched to 1291 Baker Street for an active domestic situation. While en route, officers were advised that there might have been a gun fired.
When city officers arrived, they could hear the altercation inside the Riverside Commons apartment. After multiple attempts to make contact, police gained entry into the home after a battered female answered the door.
During a search of the residence, police found Brandyn Scott Ross, 31, of Lakeville, hiding in an upstairs bedroom. After a brief struggle, Ross was taken into custody.
As a result of the officer's investigation, it was found that Ross had battered the female. Suspected cocaine was also found in his possession. Brandyn Ross was lodged in the Marshall County Jail on preliminary charges of felony domestic battery, possession of cocaine, criminal confinement, and a misdemeanor resisting law enforcement. He was held on a $1,500 cash bond.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury, at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
