Jail Bookings
• Jeremy W. Ewing, 48, 8995 Francis St., Delong, was arrested Thursday on a preliminary charge of driving without ever obtaining a license. He was taken into custody by state police at Monroe and Ninth streets and held on a $150 cash bond.

• Sara M. Handschu, 36, 5434 W. 950 South, Kewanna, was arrested Thursday on a preliminary charge of domestic battery after allegedly punching a man in the face and breaking his nose. She was taken into custody by sheriff's deputies at home and later released on her own recognizance.
• Kristine E. Hurst, 36, Bourbon, was arrested Thursday on preliminary charges of driving while intoxicated causing endangerment and possession of marijuana. She was taken into custody by state police at Ninth and Madison streets and later released on her own recognizance.

• Julio Jimenez, 41, Chicago, Ill., was arrested Thursday on a preliminary charge of possession of cocaine or a narcotic drug. He was taken into custody by sheriff's depties and held on a $2,500 surety or $500 cash bond.

• Candice J. Pierce, 22, Bloomington, was taken into custody Thursday on a warrant charging her with failure to appear in court on an original charge of making a false identity statement. She was taken into custody by sheriff's deputies and held on a $150 cash bond.

Police Incidents
Battery report
• At 1:26 p.m. Thursday, officers were dispatched to a residence in the Fortna Drive addition on a report that a woman was choked by a man, who also allegedly hit her dog.
Wrecks
• A vehicle driven by Lukas Collins, 17, of Lucerne, flipped into a ditch at approximately 4:40 p.m. Thursday at county roads 600 West and 650 South in Kewanna. No injuries were reported.
• A vehicle driven by Michael Louthen, 55, of Peru, left the roadway after hitting deer at approximately 6:40 a.m. Friday at State Road 14 and County Road 700 West.
• Shortly before 8 a.m. Friday, Breidon Vanderwall, 17, of Rochester, reported hitting a parked car at 4th and Jefferson streets.
Suspicious
• At 5:37 p.m. Thursday, a woman reported that someone used her late husband's name and email address to check in at Quality Inn, 289 McDonald Drive. An email was reportedly sent thanking them for their stay, despite never having been to Indiana.
