Beacon Credit Union has launched its 15th year of Project Spotlight. The credit inion created the program to inspire individuals and organizations to connect and serve those living and working around them. The campaign occurs in the 13 communities where the Beacon full-service Member Centers are located.
Beacon Credit Union invites everyone in the community (not just Beacon members) to nominate worthwhile charitable organizations, community projects and local nonprofits they believe deserve financial support starting March 17 until May 31. Nominations can be submitted on the credit union’s website, www.beaconcu.org, or at a Beacon Member Center.
Public voting begins July 1 and ends on July 31. Voters are allowed to vote once per day per community online or in a Member Center. After online voting, the public may share to social media letting others know they voted and encouraging them to vote for their favorite cause. Last year, Beacon Credit Union received more than 24,500 votes.
The project in each community with the most votes will win $1,000 of funding from Beacon Credit Union. The second place winners will receive $500, and a third place winner will be randomly drawn to receive $250. The total amount of money donated to charitable organizations in Indiana by Beacon Credit Union through Project Spotlight in 2025 will be $22,750.
