Bartholomew County’s largest celebration of comics, creativity, and fandom returns this spring.
Bartholomew County Comic‑Con kicks off on Saturday, April 4, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Moravec Hall and the Columbus Learning Center.
Presented in partnership by Ivy Tech Community College Columbus and the Bartholomew County Public Library, Comic‑Con is a free-to-attend regional gathering that brings together families, students, artists, gamers, and fans of all ages. It features artist alleys, cosplay showcases, tabletop and video gaming zones, panel discussions, and hands‑on workshops.
This year’s Comic‑Con builds on the momentum of past events with new interactive features and expanded space across Ivy Tech’s Moravec Hall and the Columbus Learning Center.
Features include:
- Artist & Vendor Marketplace — Local and regional creators offering comics, prints, crafts, collectibles, and original artwork.
- Cosplay Celebration — A welcoming, family‑friendly environment for costumes of all kinds, with opportunities for photos and informal showcases.
- Gaming Zones — Tabletop, card, and video gaming areas open throughout the day.
- Panels & Demonstrations — Sessions led by artists, writers, educators, and community partners exploring storytelling, illustration, fandom culture, and more.
- Youth & Family Activities — Crafts, character meet‑and‑greets, and hands‑on stations designed to spark creativity in younger attendees.
“Comic‑Con has grown into one of our most joyful and inclusive annual events,” said Abby Hilyard, a Librarian at Ivy Tech Columbus and one of the event organizers. “It brings together students, families, and fans in a space where creativity thrives. We’re excited to welcome the community into Moravec Hall and the Columbus Learning Center for a full day of discovery and fun.”
