Local literature and audiobook fans are in for a treat as The REES Theatre, in partnership with The Plymouth Public Library, prepares to host award-winning audiobook narrator and bestselling author Julia Whelan for a special community event.
The evening will celebrate Whelan’s highly acclaimed career in storytelling, narration, and authorship. Whelan is widely recognized as one of today’s most distinctive voices in the audiobook world, having narrated massive bestsellers such as The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo and The Women. Beyond her voice work, she is also the celebrated author of the novels Thank You for Listening and My Oxford Year.
This special event will offer audiences a unique opportunity to hear directly from Whelan. She will discuss her creative process, share insights from her journey through the publishing and audiobook industries, and reveal the stories behind her extensive body of work.
The Plymouth Public Library is proud to present this engaging conversation to highlight the powerful role of narration and literature in connecting communities. The REES Theatre is hosting the event on behalf of the library to celebrate storytelling in its many forms.
Admission to the event is free, but seating is limited and expected to fill up quickly. Free tickets are available at the Plymouth Public Library.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to purchase Whelan’s books at the event, allowing guests to bring home a copy and enjoy her work firsthand. Book sales will be cash or check only, and supplies will be limited.
