Attorney General invites Hoosiers to claim their money at the Indiana State Fair

Attorney General Todd Rokita is inviting Hoosiers attending the Indiana State Fair to meet members of his team, learn about the office and reunite with money or property that may be waiting for them. 
 
The fair runs from Friday, August 7, through Sunday, August 23 (closed Mondays). The Attorney General’s booth will be located in the Mercantile Building and staffed daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. 
 
“The State Fair brings Hoosiers together to celebrate what makes Indiana special,” Attorney General Rokita said. “We’re proud to be part of that tradition by helping people reclaim money that is rightfully theirs, sharing tools to protect against scams and identity theft, and providing resources that empower Hoosiers to know and exercise their rights. We look forward to seeing you there!” 
 
Staff will help visitors search for unclaimed property on the spot and answer questions about consumer protection. Free copies of key publications will also be available, including the Parents’ Bill of Rights, Gun Owners Bill of Rights, Consumer Data Bill of Rights, and the Indiana Constitution. 
 
So far this year, the Attorney General’s office has returned more than $75 million in unclaimed property to Hoosiers—averaging more than $2 million every week. Nearly a billion dollars more remains waiting to be claimed.
