ARTS in the Street seeks volunteers for July 25 festival in downtown Plymouth

The Heartland Art Center is calling on community members to help bring one of Plymouth's most beloved summer traditions to life. ARTS in the Street, the annual outdoor arts and music festival held in downtown Plymouth, returns on Saturday, July 25 — and organizers are looking for volunteers to help make it happen.

Each year the festival draws thousands of visitors to celebrate art, music, creativity, and community in the heart of Plymouth. Behind every successful event is a corps of dedicated volunteers who handle everything from artist support to setup and teardown.

Volunteer opportunities are available throughout the day and include artist and performer support, art activity assistance, and festival setup and teardown. No prior experience is required — organizers say all that's needed is a willingness to help and a love for community. Students in need of volunteer or service hours are especially encouraged to sign up.

Volunteers can commit to a few hours or spend the full day at the festival.

Those who sign up will receive an official 2026 ARTS in the Street T-shirt — with guaranteed sizing for anyone who registers by July 1. Setup volunteers will be treated to coffee and donuts, while teardown volunteers can look forward to cookies and punch. Volunteers who complete two shifts will receive a festival tote bag or hat.

There's also an incentive for spreading the word: anyone who recruits an additional volunteer will be entered into a drawing to win a $100 Heartland Art Center gift certificate. Three winners will be drawn.

"If you've ever enjoyed ARTS in the Street, this is your opportunity to help create that experience for someone else," said Heartland Art Center President Anna Kietzman.
