Applications Now Open for 2027 Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship in Marshall County

The Marshall County Community Foundation has announced that applications are now available for the 2027 Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship — one of Indiana's most prestigious college scholarships — with a deadline of Friday, September 11, 2026.

One scholarship will be awarded in Marshall County, covering full tuition, required fees, and up to $900 per year for books and equipment for four years of full-time undergraduate study at an eligible Indiana public or private nonprofit college or university.

To be eligible, applicants must be Indiana residents who graduate from an accredited Indiana high school by June 30, 2027, and plan to pursue a full-time baccalaureate degree at an Indiana institution. Applications will be evaluated on academic performance, community service, leadership, school activities, work experience, and an essay. Finalists will also complete an on-site interview. The scholarship recipient will be notified in December.

"We are proud to once again offer one outstanding student the opportunity to earn free tuition through the LECSP, recognizing their hard work, dedication, and academic achievement," said Linda Yoder, President of the Marshall County Community Foundation.

Now in its 30th year in Marshall County, the program has supported more than 5,400 Indiana students since 1997 with more than $505 million in tuition grants statewide.
