All Points Tool & Manufacturing seeks tax abatement from City of Plymouth

Marshall County Economic Development Corporation President Greg Hildebrand presented Plymouth City Council members with a tax abatement request from All Points Tool & Manufacturing, located at 2743 Pioneer Drive in Plymouth. The first step in the tax abatement process is to declare the property within an Economic Revitalization Area.

All Points Tool & Manufacturing (APT M) is a woman-owned company. Krisha Senetar from All Points Tool told the city council the company is a premium manufacturer specializing in the production of machined parts, tooling, and fixtures for various industries.

Established in 2000, All Points Tool & Manufacturing is a family-owned and operated corporation that prides itself on its commitment to customer satisfaction and defect-free products. The company's capabilities extend to machining metal and plastic components, creating features that most manufacturers cannot achieve.

During the city council meeting on Monday, Hildebrand said the company received from Conseco a Manufacturing Readiness Grant, which is designed to incentivize small and mid-sized manufacturers to invest in advanced technologies like automation, robotics, and data analytics to modernize their operations and stay competitive in the market; essentially, it's a funding opportunity to help Indiana manufacturers adopt "smart manufacturing" practices by supporting capital investments in cutting-edge technologies.

Hildebrand said the company will purchase two pieces of equipment to help automate and make the company more productive.

“This is just the first step in what will be a long process," he said. "They are shoehorned into the building and are looking at expanding.”

The tax abatement request was only $215,000. Hildebrand said it was initially over $400,000 in equipment, but some grant funds will pay for part of it. The proposed abatement is the standard 7-year phase-in. He said with the abatement, All Points Tool will save $10,000 over the seven years, and the city will still receive just about $7,000 in tax money.       

Senetar said they haven’t had any new equipment since 2007, and the employees are excited about the latest technology. They will hire a new operator and possibly a programmer and retain their four full-time employees.   

The Plymouth Common Council unanimously approved a Declaratory Resolution for All Points Tool & Manufacturing, conveniently located just north of Love's gas station.
