A 55-year-old Akron woman was arrested recently after she allegedly used a bat to batter another person.
According to court documents the Kosciusko County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a report about a battery on June 3, at a rural Akron residence. When officers arrived to the scene they found a woman with a cut underneath her left eyebrow and dried blood on her face.
The injured woman stated she and Kristy Guess, 55, of Akron, had initially gotten into an argument before it escalated into a physical altercation. The woman claimed Guess had also hit her with a baseball bat.
When questioned, Guess admitted to getting into a verbal argument and punching the woman, but denied using a baseball bat to hit her.
A warrant was issued for Guess on July 9.
She was arrested July 20 and faces charges of battery resulting in moderate bodily injury, a Level 6 Felony; and battery resulting in bodily injury, a class A misdemeanor. Guess has since posted bond and has an initial hearing in Kosciusko County Circuit Court September 19.
