Investigation continues after man and woman found dead in apparent murder-suicide in Rochester.
In an unusual tragedy for the city of Rochester, a man and woman were found dead in a vehicle outside Rochester Police Department on Tuesday night.
Police say evidence collected during investigation preliminarily indicates that 49-year-old Keith A.M. Parsons fatally shot 42-year-old Heidi R. Prince before taking his own life.
The Rochester couple were found by officers conducting a welfare check at approximately 11 p.m. The vehicle was parked in front of the police department at 312 Main St. and had reportedly been there for some time.
Upon approaching the vehicle, officers discovered that the two were dead, each suffering from what appeared to be fatal gunshot wounds. During the course of the investigation, officers located one firearm inside the vehicle.
The incident remains an active and ongoing investigation, with no further details released at this time, a Rochester Police Department press release states.
City police were assisted by the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department, Indiana State Police, Fulton County Coroner’s Office, Lutheran EMS and Rochester Fire Department.
The Rochester Police Department extends its deepest condolences to family and friends affected by this tragedy.
