The Marshall County Historical Society is sponsoring a Brown Bag Lunch & Lecture Event on Friday, April 11th, from Noon – 1:00 p.m. Barbara Olenyik Morrow will speak about her book Nature’s Storyteller: The Life of Gene Stratton-Porter.
In Nature’s Storyteller: The Life of Gene Stratton-Porter (Indiana Historical Society Press), Morrow tells the story of this remarkable Hoosier who lived life on her own terms – and who, in the process, helped push back society’s boundaries for women. Stratton-Porter also was instrumental in kick-starting the nation’s conservation movement, with some people comparing her influence to that of another leading environmentalist in the early 1900s, President Theodore Roosevelt.
