The IHSA Class 2A Boys Golf Sectional was played Monday in Edwardsville at the Oak Brook Golf Course.
The team title was shared by Effingham (St. Anthony) and host Highland each with 298 points while Alton (Marquette) and Belleville (Althoff Catholic) tied for third each with 306 points. Little Illini Conference champion Olney (Richland County) finished 10th in the team standings and did not advance to the 2A state finals.
Two members of the Red Hill-Lawrenceville Salukis did participate as individuals in the sectional after qualifying at the regional last week at Effingham. Both junior Nox Gray and sophomore Bradley Buchanon each carded 80 during their rounds and did not advance to the state finals. The low medalist on the day was Carson Tribout of Belleville (Althoff Catholic) with a 66. Senior Reese Glover of Olney shot 72 and will advance to the Class 2A state finals as an individual.
