Triton Central captured its third consecutive softball sectional championship Wednesday with a 6-2 win at Eastern Hancock.
Trine commit Brylie Couch allowed just three hits and one walk while striking out 10 Royals to earn the win.
Lillie Fillippinie drove in two runs with a double in the first inning while Ashlyn Hittle and Jayda McKee each had two hits and combined to score three runs.
Triton Central scored two runs in the first inning off Eastern Hancock starting pitcher Macy Martin. Kenna Stewart took over in the second inning and gave her team a chance for a comeback, but Couch was too strong.
Hittle blasted a solo home run in the fifth inning that extended the lead to 4-2. The Tigers added two runs in the sixth off two Eastern Hancock errors.
Hannah Wittgren had two of the three hits for Eastern Hancock (13-12).
Triton Central (22-2) will host the regional championship game Tuesday against either Shenandoah (17-3) or No. 7 Hagerstown (19-2), who play today in the Centerville Sectional championship game.
