The Red Hill Basketball Salukis live to fight another day in the Illinois Class 1A Basketball tournament series. They rallied from a 13 point halftime deficit and stunned the Grayville Bison 64-62 Monday night at Grayville in the first round of the Edwards County (Albion) Regional. The Salukis trailed 16-7 after one quarter and 31-18 at the half. But to their credit, they increased their level of play in the third quarter and cut the deficit to 49-45 entering the final period. From there, it was a back and forth contest, but the visitors made some key plays, free throws and baskets down the stretch to hold off the Bison and pick up the victory. The Salukis were paced by Ozzy Ash with 27 points with Hayden Arbuckle adding 13 and Avery Arbuckle 11. The win snapped a five game losing streak for the Salukis, who are now 12-19. Next up in the semi-finals Wednesday at Albion is Centralia (Christ Our Rock Lutheran) which beat Wayne City 52-30 Monday night. Game time is 7:30 p.m on the Legend 99.3 FM and AM 910.
