Prep Report: TC baseball splits doubleheader at Northeastern

Brayden Hoover and Brody Hartman combined to drive in four runs Saturday to help Triton Central split a doubleheader at Northeastern.

Hoover had a home run and two RBIs in a 5-3 victory over the Knights (13-5).

Kellan Dishman pitched a complete game, allowing seven hits and one walk while striking out five. All three runs scored were unearned.

Northeastern won the opener, 8-6, on the strength of three runs innings in the fifth and sixth.

Kaleb Kress had two hits, scored three runs and drove in two to lead Northeastern. Jarrett Leitner also had two hits.

Andrew Berry had three RBIs for Triton Central (7-15).

The Tigers host Oldenburg Academy (3-10) today.

Hoosier Heritage Conference Meet

At The Players Club in Muncie, Shelbyville finished seventh in its final appearance in a HHC golf match.

Pendleton Heights was crowned champion with a 3-0. New Palestine was runner-up at 316 followed by Mt. Vernon (325), New Castle (331), Delta (333), Yorktown (335), Shelbyville (380) and Greenfield-Central (381).

Shelbyville was led by Logan Tobian’s 84 and Logan Reinhart’s 86.

Softball

Jennings County 4, Shelbyville 3

At Charlestown, the Panthers scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to secure the come-from-behind victory over the Golden Bears.

The game was scheduled for only five innings to help facilitate a second game for the Golden Bears against Charlestown. Weather forced the cancellation of that game in the second inning.

Addie Herald had two hits for Shelbyville (10-14). Lexi Rogers drove in two runs.

Gracie Crafton took the loss. She allowed nine hits and struck out five.

Shelbyville will host Greenfield-Central (11-9) tonight for Senior Night.
