The Lady Pilgrims started their season on a cold night at Culver Community High School. While it was cold outside, the Pilgrim bats were hot, getting 12 hits on the night. Leading the offensive charge was Audrey Himes going 3 for 3 with a walk and two doubles. Jena Downs was right with Audrey going 3 for 5 with 2 doubles. Other players with multiple hits include Sydnee Smith and Cassidy Holiday. There were many other players to add hits and reach base to put pressure on the Culver defense. Josie Koontz was the pitcher for the game and got her first win. She allowed 7 hits, walked 8, and struck out 2. While she didn’t strike many players out, she did her job and allowed her team to play defense behind her. The Plymouth High School softball team will host Triton on Tuesday, April 10 for a 5pm start.
The JV team was scheduled to play a shortened game following the varsity game. After two innings, the game was called due to darkness. They will again play a shortened game following the varsity game versus Triton on April 10.
