Congratulations to Parkview Junior High School 7th grader Paxton Gher.
He finished third in the 12-13-year-old division of the Elks National Hoop Shoot finals at Wintrust Arena in Chicago Saturday.
Gher made 24 of 25 free throws in the first round of the competition and was 5 of 5 in a shoot off.
He qualified for the national finals by winning the North Central Region in Iowa back in March and was one of 12 finalists at the event.
