Marshall senior running back Luca Giannavola ran for 208 yards and three touchdowns to eclipse 1000 yards for the season and lead the host Lions to a 34-7 win over the Lawrenceville football Indians Friday night at Bush Field in Marshall.
That was part of over 400 yards in total offense with over 300 yards on the ground by Marshall, which snapped a three-game losing skid to improve to 4-3. The loss was the fifth in a row for the Tribe, who fall to 1-6 overall.
Marshall controlled the ball for most of the game and led 8-0 after one quarter and 20-0 at the half enroute to the victory.
The Indians could not muster a consistent offense throughout and were held to a 5-yard scoring run by quarterback Blayton Gossett in the second half.
The Indians will look to get back on the winning track next Friday when they host the Newton Eagles in their final home game of the year at Ed Loeb Field. It will be Senior Night.
