The Class 1A Girls Track and Field Sectional meet was held Wednesday at Altamont. The Newton Lady Eagles rolled to the team title in the 17 team field with 122 points. Effingham (St Anthony) was a distant second with 94, Teutopolis third with 82 and Marshall fourth with 74. The Red Hill Lady Salukis competed and finished 16th with 3 points and the Lawrenceville Lady Indians were 17th and last with 2 points. Neither team had anyone qualify for the state meet.
