The Mt Carmel Lady softball Golden Aces broke open a scoreless game with 2 runs in both the 4th and 5th innings Monday enroute to a 9-2 win over the Lawrenceville Lady Indians at Mt Carmel.
They added 5 insurance runs in the bottom of the 6th to cap off the Little Illini Conference (LIC) win.
Mt Carmel scored 9 runs on 9 hits and made no errors while Lawrenceville scored 2 runs on only 5 hits and 1 error.
Addy Brush had 2 hits and Abby Taylor added a hit and RBI offensively.
The loss was the second in a row for Lawrenceville, now 3-11 on the season.
