Edwards County scored 3 runs in the top of the third inning to snap a 1-1 tie and went on to beat the Lawrenceville Lady softball Indians 8-1 Monday at Phil Alsman Field in Lawrenceville.
The Lady Lions scored 8 runs on 10 hits with no errors while the hosts scored 1 run on 5 hits and made 5 errors.
Alyssa Griggs drove in the only Lady Indian run in the bottom of the first.
Allison Evans took the pitching loss allowing 7 runs over 4 innings.
The loss drops Lawrenceville to 1-3 on the season.
The Lady Indians are idle until Monday, April 7th when they travel to Fairfield.
