The Lawrenceville Basketball Indians have captured the Little Illini Conference (LIC) regular season championship for the first time since 2016. They rolled over the Paris Tigers 73-26 Saturday at Paris to complete a 7-0 league slate. The Tribe placed four in double figures in the win-Bryant Jenkins led with 23 points, Landon Sanders and Zander Cessna each had 15 and Parker Hardiman added 10. The Indian JV also finished its season unbeaten at 19-0 with a 58-22 win over Paris. They were paced by Jacek Mickiewicz with 17 points and Jayden Goff with 13. The Indian frosh-soph team lost to the host Tigers 40-37 with Nox Gray scoring 13. The Indians wrap up an outstanding regular season at 25-3 and will now head into the postseason. The Indians are the overall top seeds and will have a first round bye in the Class 2A Vandalia Regional which begins Monday night. The Indians will play Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the first semi-final against either Vandalia or Robinson.
