The Lawrenceville Baseball Indians broke open a close 2-1 game with 5 runs in the bottom of the fifth inning and went on to beat the Red Hill Salukis 9-1 Thursday on Senior Night at Unit 20 Ballpark in Lawrenceville. The Indians score 9 runs on 10 hits with 1 error while the Salukis were held to 1 run on 3 hits with no errors. Emery Ivers (5-2) started and went 4 innings on the mound to pick up the win and also was 4 for 4 at the plate with a HR and 2 RBI. Neilan Bickers, Maddox Pargin and Landon Sanders each also had 2 hits and Bickers and Sanders each had 2 RBI. The win ends the regular season for the Tribe at 14-12-1 heading into first round regional play Monday at home against Oblong. The Salukis end their year at 9-12 and will also be at home for first round regional play Monday against Wayne City.
