Over half of the teams in the Little Illini Conference (LIC) will be playing post season football.
The Illinois High School Association (IHSA) selected 5 squads to join its' 256 team, eight class tournament field Saturday night. Casey-Westfield, Marshall, Mt. Carmel, Olney (Richland County), and Paris all were qualifiers, the most from the league since 2021. Last year, only three LIC schools made the playoff field.
The Red Hill football Salukis also qualified for the playoffs. They finished the season at 5-4 and will be matched up in a first round battle with7-2 Casey-Westfield in Class 1A. The game is now scheduled for 7 p.m. CT Saturday at Sinclair Vidoni Field at Casey.
