Waldron High School senior running back Troy Atwood has been named the Beth Prince State Farm Athlete of the Week.
Atwood (Chad Williams photo) and the Mohawks earned an impressive 68-8 win over Rock Creek Academy on Saturday to improve to 2-0 this season.
Atwood had a 91-yard kickoff return for a touchdown and rushed for two more scores, finishing with 148 yards on six carries. The senior also had an 11-yard touchdown reception.
Waldron's 8-man football team is back in action Saturday at Dugger Union (2-0).
