William Dale Blackburn, 59, of Shelbyville, passed away Friday, October 30, 2026, in Greensburg.
Born on November 20, 1966, in Indianapolis, he was the son of Albert W. Blackburn and Elizabeth (Clark) Blackburn.
He married Amy (Toll) Blackburn on June 19, 1993, and she survives.
Other survivors include his mother Elizabeth, 2 children- Bradey (Bri) Blackburn of Shelbyville, JD (Macie) Blackburn of Shelbyville; 2 brothers- Rick ( Inara) Blackburn of Palm Coast, Florida, Michael (Pamela) Blackburn of Shelbyville; 4 grandchildren- CJ, Sophia, Chuck and Walker Blackburn; also survived by several nieces and nephews whom he loved very much.
He was preceded in death by his father Albert.
Dale had lived in this area his entire lifetime and worked for GeCOm for over 28 plus years as a Engineer. He bowled in many leagues at Blue River Bowl over the years. Dale enjoyed the Indy 500, watching the Cincinatti Reds, Minnesota Vikings, and Notre Dame play ball, but most of all loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He loved his beloved dog Bean.
Funeral services will be 1:00 pm, Saturday, November 7, 2026, at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road.
Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.
Family will receive friends on Saturday morning from 11:00 am until the time of the service, at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions can be made to Shelby County Special Olympics, in care of the funeral home.
