Wanda L. LaBounty, age 92, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at Aperion of Vincennes in Vincennes, Indiana.
Wanda L. LaBounty, age 92, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at Aperion of Vincennes in Vincennes, Indiana. She was born December 8, 1932, in Fayette County, Illinois, the daughter of Thomas A. Rogers and Caddie May (Claytor) Rogers. She married James A. LaBounty on April 20, 1956, and he preceded her in death on September 29, 2007.
Wanda was a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked for Dr. Jacqmain for more than 30 years. She was an avid reader who frequently visited the Lawrence Public Library. Wanda enjoyed walking, antiquing, shopping, and taking annual trips to Florida with her brothers and sisters. She loved visiting with her neighbors, as well as indulging in her favorite treats—soft serve ice cream and milkshakes. Above all, Wanda cherished her family and treasured looking through their photos.
Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; son, Todd LaBounty; and siblings, Thomas Jr., Don, Glenn, Mickey, Joan, and Roberta.
Survivors include her son, Scott T. (Carol) LaBounty of Orange, California; daughter-in-law, Sally LaBounty of Lawrenceville; sister, Roslyn Hartman of Florida; grandchildren, Anna (Robert) Kim, Jesse LaBounty, Robbie (Cameron) LaBounty, Stacy (Jonathan) Lee, and Laurie (Hector) LaBounty; and great-grandchildren, Lucy Kim, Grace Kim, and Bri Soberano.
Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at the Lawrenceville City Cemetery in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be held Monday evening from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Memorial donations may be made to the Lawrence Public Library.
