Tonya Jean Adamson, age 61, of Chandler, Indiana, passed away Friday, May 30, 2025, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, Indiana.
Tonya Jean Adamson, age 61, of Chandler, Indiana, passed away Friday, May 30, 2025, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. She was born March 26, 1964 in Lawrenceville, Illinois, the daughter of Leland Adamson and Paula Carter Mieure.
Tonya was a 1982 graduate of Red Hill High School and joined the Marines in 1987. Tonya was a proud Marine and member of the NRA. She was a hair stylist who took great care in helping her clients feel their best. Some of her favorite things to do were to take pictures of nature and attending car shows. She also enjoyed ballroom dancing with her good friend, Richard Katterjohn. Tonya greatly appreciated the care and support of her friend, Donald Stacy.
Tonya was a member of a large family with many friends and she thoroughly enjoyed seeing updates of all the new great nieces and nephews. Her greatest joy came from being a mother to Douglas and Ethan.
Tonya was preceded in death by her father, Leland Adamson.
Survivors include: sons, Douglas and Ethan Connell from Tallahassee, Florida; her mother, Paula (David) Mieure of Lawrenceville; siblings, Kevin Adamson of Lawrenceville, Rhonda (her twin) of Chandler, Indiana, Sherrie (George) Zwilling of Sumner, Steve (DeAnna) Adamson of Sumner, and Tracy Perez of Sumner; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Graveside services will be held on Thursday, June 12, at 11:00 a.m. at the Lawrenceville City Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the funeral home.
