Terri Renee Ray, age 66, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana.
Terri Renee Ray, age 66, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana. She was born on February 8, 1959, in Rapid City, South Dakota, the daughter of Chester C. “Junior” Smith, Jr. and Ellen (Akers) Smith.
Terri worked as a health aide for Lawrence County Community Unit District No. 20. She was devoted to her family and treasured every moment spent with her grandson, Jake. Terri enjoyed riding four-wheelers with friends, attending sporting events, working in her yard, and gardening. A woman of deep faith, she placed her trust in God and lived her life with a spiritual heart.
She was preceded in death by her father, Chester C. “Junior” Smith, Jr.
Survivors include her mother, Ellen Smith of Lawrenceville; daughter, Heidi (Chris) Meeks of Lawrenceville; sister, Debbie Anderson of Mt. Vernon, Indiana; and grandson, Jake Meeks.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville. Visitation will be held from 12:30 p.m. until the service hour of 2:30 p.m. Burial will follow at Derr Cemetery in Pinkstaff.
Memorial donations may be made to the Lawrence County Humane Society or the Lawrence County Cancer Resource Center & Wig Shoppe.
