Susan J. Garman, 74, Rochester, passed away at 8:48 P.M. on Saturday, July 18, 2026, at Wynnfield Crossing, Rochester, Indiana.

She was born on April 14, 1952, in Green Bay, Wisconsin, the daughter of Jerome and Florence (Wiechman) Clavers. On April 3, 1976, in Tucson, Arizona, she married William H. Garman. He preceded her in death on February 19, 2016.

Susan was a United States Air Force veteran serving as a jet engine mechanic during the Vietnam War. She received her Bachelors’ degree in Education from the University of Wisconin-Oshkosh and served as a teacher in Wisconsin and Missouri. Susan was a member of the First Christian Church, Rochester, Indiana and was a former Girl Scouts of Tribal Trails in Miami County. She had been a twenty year 4-H member, serving as club leader, 4-H Council, Extension Board, and Project Superintendent. She enjoyed quilting, reading, baking, scrapbooking and card making.

Survivors include her children, Brian (Kristie) Garman, Marion, Indiana, Michael (Carrie) Garman, Lebanon, Indiana, Sandra (Michael) Hoffarth, Rochester, Indiana, grandchildren, Galan and Liam Dishner, Makenzie, Christopher and Isaac Garman, Chloe Hoffarth, great grandchildren, Athena, Bodie, Ivy Jean, brother, Robert (Gina) Clavers, Hammond, Indiana, and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Friday, July 24, 2026, at First Christian Church, 1101 Madison Street, Rochester, Indiana.

Friends may visit from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Friday at the church.

Graveside services with military rites will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Monday, July 27, 2026, at the Fulton Cemetery, Fulton, Indiana.

Memorial contributions may be made to First Christian Church.
