Stanley Eugene Weiss passed away on July 16th.

On July 16th, we lost a legend. The embodiment of every classic rock song you hear on the radio. Stanley Eugene Weiss was a picker, a grinner, a lover, and a sinner. He was a Simple Man, a Wayward Son, and in everything he did, a Renegade.

Born May 24, 1952, in Sumner, IL, to William Carl and Dorothy Isabelle Weiss. Stan was a Vietnam veteran who understood that he would never be a Fortunate Son. Yet, he lived by the creed of Lynyrd Skynyrd to “follow your heart”. He found his home with his very own Candy Girl, Candace Amber Ash. They were married on September 9, 1972.

The music carries on for Stan in the heart of his beloved wife. He is survived by Dr. Stanley (Buck) Weiss II, and wife Shannon; daughter, Rachel Dawn Weiss and Justin; daughter, Dorothy Allison Piper and husband, Dusty.

His grandchildren, Cole (wife Kara), Hunter (husband Marty), Allison, Kenley, Coy, Whit, Ash, and Wilder; and his great-grandchildren, Capri and Thea.

He is survived by his brother, Mike Weiss and wife Sharon. His sisters, Shirley Ernest and Donna Phillips.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother John, and his sisters, Peggy, Darlene, Mary Jane.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 9th, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Fountain Fellowship Worship Center in Bridgeport. A time of remembrance will begin at 1:00 p.m. and military rites will be given as well.

Memorial contributions can be made to Fountain Fellowship Worship Center directly (701 E. State Street, Bridgeport, IL 62417) or through the funeral home. Online condolences can be sent to his family at www.cunninghamfuneralhomes.com.
