On Thursday, May 21, 2026, Sladen Edward Adams passed away at the age of 24 years. He was born to Ed Adams and Jennifer (Potts) Adams in Vincennes, IN on July 18, 2001.
Sladen was a beautiful soul with a smile to match. He loved his children, Cash and Junie, and cherished every moment he got to spend with them. They were the core of his heart and soul, and he deeply enjoyed spending time with all of his family.
He graduated from Lawrenceville High School in 2019 and eventually went on to Wabash Valley College. While at WVC, he was active in TRIO and the Work Study program. Cooking and trying any new food were on the top of his list of things he enjoyed. He especially liked sushi. Since he was a young boy, video gaming was a hobby he spent time doing. Sladen loved to body build and lift heavy weights, and he always had a passion for animals and loved his pets.
Many people knew Sladen from his time as a waiter at Coco’s Café and Wine Bar in Lawrenceville, IL and Rosati’s in Mt. Carmel, IL. He took pride in being a waiter and did his best to please his customers. He had worked in construction and roofing and had his hand in may trades on his search for what fit him.
Those left to honor the life of Sladen include: his mother- Jennifer Adams and Jeremy May of Evansville, IN; his father- Ed Adams and wife Tina of Lawrenceville, IL; two children- Cash Adams and Junie Adams both of Lawrenceville, IL; maternal grandmother- Sherry Potts of St. Francisville, IL; paternal grandmother- Karen Martin and husband Bill of Lawrenceville, IL; two step-brothers- Peyton Devin of Bridgeport, IL and Tanner Gray and wife Andi of Lawrenceville, IL; one niece- Ellie Gray; and three aunts- Julie Crummley and husband Jared, Cheryl Martin, and April Walls and husband Chris.
He was preceded in death by: his maternal grandfather- Lester “Bub” Potts; paternal grandfather- Ed Adams, and his paternal great-grandmother- Nancy Eagleson.
A visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at the Cunningham-Young Funeral Home in Lawrenceville. Graveside services will take place in Lawrenceville City Cemetery on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.
