Shirley A. Hill, age 83, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away Saturday, July 26, 2025, at her home.
Shirley A. Hill, age 83, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away Saturday, July 26, 2025, at her home. She was born September 14, 1941 in Vincennes, Indiana, the daughter of John R. Waldrop and Wilma Dunning Waldrop. She married James “Bud” Hill on July 12, 1969, and he preceded her in death on December 8, 2006.
Shirley worked at Walmart and was a member of the Rising Sun Christian Church. She enjoyed watching the Food Network and Nascar. Shirley enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and her church family.
Preceding Shirley in death were her parents; husband, James (Bud) Hill; son, Dennis L. Hill; sister, Sue Montgomery; and granddaughter, Samantha Hill.
Survivors include: children, James C. (Kelly) Hill of Lawrenceville, and Jeremy (Alisa) Hill of Petersburg, Indiana; daughter-in-law, Roxie Hill; siblings, Ronald (Jeanniene) Waldrop of Lawrenceville, and Randall (Carol) Waldrop of Georgia; grandchildren, Mackenzie (Tyler) Longbons, Isaac (Macee) Hill, Layne Hill, Lexie Hill, Aiden Hill, Ezra Hill, Irie Hill; great-grandchildren, Harper Longbons, Raelynn Longbons, Cooper Longbons, and Emery Longbons.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. until the service hour of 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Lawrenceville City Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Rising Sun Christian Church.
