Sharon S. Hoke, age 84, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away Sunday, October 5, 2025, at Gentle Care Strategies in Vincennes, Indiana.
Sharon S. Hoke, age 84, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away Sunday, October 5, 2025, at Gentle Care Strategies in Vincennes, Indiana. She was born October 9, 1940, in Martin County, Indiana, the daughter of Noble J. Divine and Dorothy Weger Divine. She married Allan Wayne Hoke, Sr. on October 12, 1960, in Lawrence County, and he preceded her in death on July 7, 1997.
Sharon was a devoted homemaker and proud Navy wife. She was a breast cancer survivor and faced life’s challenges with strength and grace. She loved playing Bingo and especially enjoyed watching her grandchildren participate in sports. Sharon found great joy in caring for her family and spending time with them. She will be remembered for her big heart, generous spirit, and loyalty as a friend.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; and siblings: Jack Divine, Noble “Andy” Divine, Richard Divine, James “Fred” Divine, Diane Braun, Alma Lucille Divine, and Judy Kennedy.
Survivors include her children, Angela (Marvis) Primus of Lawrenceville, Illinois, and Allan (Lisa) Hoke, Jr. of Smyrna, Tennessee; siblings, Steven (Mary) Divine of Bullhead City, Arizona, and Mary Ann Kent of Robinson, Illinois; grandchildren, Brian (Hayley) Primus, Jessica (Aaron) Garcia, Kayla (Tyler) Golden, and Ryan (Stephanie) Hoke; and great-grandchildren, Aaron Garcia, Zane Garcia, Silas Primus, Charlie Primus, Adeline Hoke, Oliver Hoke, Dottie Hoke, and Renly Golden.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. CDT on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. CDT until the service hour. Burial will follow in Price Cemetery.
