Ruth Jenette Pemberton, age 89 of Vincennes and formerly of St. Francisville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Aperion Care of Vincennes.
Ruth Jenette Pemberton, age 89 of Vincennes and formerly of St. Francisville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Aperion Care of Vincennes. She was born in St. Francisville on February 21, 1936 to John Henry Bledsoe and his wife Bertha Cathren (Pinnick) Bledsoe.
For 74 years, Ruth spent her life as a devoted wife to James Franklin Pemberton until his passing on February 18, 2025.
Ruth was an animal lover, enjoyed going to rummage sales with Jim, and cherished the time she spent with her family. When her health allowed, she attended the Church of God in Vincennes.
Family left to remember Ruth and carry on her legacy include: two sons- Terry Pemberton and wife Diana of St. Francisville, IL and Daniel Pemberton and wife Kathy of Indianapolis, IN; four grandchildren- Jimmie Pemberton and wife Darla of Brownsburg, IN, Shane Pemberton and wife Jennifer of Martinsville, IN, Mandy Pemberton, and Ben Pemberton; two great-grandchildren- Kaitlyn Pemberton of Bridgeport, IL and Destiny Pemberton of Beech Grove, IN; and one great-great-granddaughter- Salora Pemberton of Beech Grove, IN.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, siblings, and one son, Eddie Pemberton.
A private service will be held with burial in Oak Lawn Cemetery in St. Francisville. Cunningham Funeral Home in Bridgeport is in charge of arrangements.
