Robert Eric Cloys, age 85, of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at his home. He was born on April 27, 1940 in Union City, Tennessee, the son of Lexie Cloys and Motye Garrett. He married Judy Walton Kelly on October 24, 1992 and she survives.
Robert worked at Johnson Control as a purchasing manager for over twenty years. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge. Robert was an avid woodworker, artist, enjoyed flower gardening, and an enthusiastic Tennessee football fan.
Preceding him in death were his parents, his siblings Thomas Cloys, Betty Knox, and Faye Young.
Survivors include: his wife Judy; his two children Christopher (Mandy) Cloys of Chattanooga, Tennessee and Cheri (Lance) Morris of Owensboro, Kentucky; two stepchildren Bryon (Jacole Nicolini) Kelly of Lawrenceville and Jamie Kay Bump of Lawrenceville; eleven grandchildren: Lily Sturch, Violet Love-Cloys, Ivan Love-Cloys, Leif Cloys, Benjamin Morris, Amie Morris, Joseph Morris, Cassondra (Jed) Brian, Shandy (Justin) Holmes, Brianna Kay (Noah) Volkman, Kelly “Slim” Bump; four great-grandchildren; and his sister-in-law Betsy Cloys.
Memorial services will be on Wednesday, June 25 at 2:00 pm at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois.
