
Raymond Durwood Greene, age 90, of Linton, Indiana, passed away April 21, 2025, at Sullivan County Community Hospital in Sullivan, Indiana.
Raymond Durwood Greene, age 90, of Linton, Indiana, passed away April 21, 2025, at Sullivan County Community Hospital in Sullivan, Indiana. He was born on December 13, 1934, in Indianapolis, Indiana, the son of Charles and Helen (Dicus) Greene. He was married to Rose Marie Sullivan and she preceded him in death on May 29, 2005. He married Helen (Marsee) Greene on June 25, 2011, and she survives.
Raymond was a truck driver for Sullivan Metals and meatcutter for National Grocery. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church in Dugger, Indiana. He was in the Navy in the Korean War. He was a member of the Lawrenceville VFW. Raymond enjoyed stock car racing and was an avid sports fan of the Chicago Bears, Chicago Hawks and Chicago Cubs. On his 90th birthday, he went to the Daytona 500 race. He enjoyed feeding hummingbirds.
Preceding Raymond in death were his parents; son, Thomas Greene; and one grandchild.
Survivors include his wife, Helen, of Linton, Indiana; two sons, Robert (Sasha) Greene of Bridgeport, Scott (Michelle) Greene of St. Augustine, Florida; four daughters, Michelle (Steve) Conner of California City, California, Rebecca Squire of Dugger, Indiana, Paula (Robert) Stephens of Bridgeport, and Teresa Littlejohn of Linton, Indiana; one brother, Charles (Kay) Greene of Georgia; one sister, Barbara Saul of O’Fallon, Illinois; 18 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be Monday, April 28, at 11:00 a.m. at the Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home. Visitation will be Sunday evening from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Burial will be in Vincennes Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made to the donor’s choice.
