Nora A. Morris, age 83, of Bridgeport, Illinois, passed away Friday, September 12, 2025, at her home.
Nora A. Morris, age 83, of Bridgeport, Illinois, passed away Friday, September 12, 2025, at her home. She was born January 31, 1942, in Lawrence County, the daughter of Otto and Hazel (Ash) Waller. On April 18, 1958, she married the love of her life, Teddy W. Morris, who preceded her in death on March 15, 2014.
A devoted homemaker, Nora poured her heart into caring for her family. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, cleaning, and tending her garden. She also loved playing cards and treasured the many games she shared with family and friends. Nora and Teddy spent many happy hours playing tennis together, and she found her greatest joy in time spent with her loved ones.
Her faith was central to her life. She was active in church and had a special gift for singing, which she loved to share with her congregation.
Nora was preceded in death by her brothers, David Waller and Kenny Waller, Sr.; grandson, Michael Morris.
She is survived by her children, David (Penny) Morris of Bridgeport, Travis (Tamera) Morris of Winthrup Harbor, Illinois, and Sam Morris of Bridgeport; siblings, Steven Waller of Arizona, Paul Waller of Lawrenceville, Mark (Nori) Waller of Wisconsin, Ruth Moore of Sumner, Lois Waggoner of Lawrenceville, and Margaret Waller of Rockford; grandchildren, Dana Morris, John (Shelly) Morris, Clifton Tewell, Seth Hunt, Chelsea Hunt, Casey Muhs and Zachary Rainey; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at the Hi-Way Church of God in Lawrenceville, Illinois. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the service hour of 11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow at Billett Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to DaVita Dialysis or the Hi-Way Church of God.
