Michele R. “Schel” Davis, age 76 of Olney, IL, passed away on April 14, 2026, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital of Evansville, IN due to complications following a car accident.
Michele R. “Schel” Davis, age 76 of Olney, IL, passed away on April 14, 2026, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital of Evansville, IN due to complications following a car accident. She was born on April 16, 1949, in Lansing, MI to Harry and Marguerite (Westfall) Davis.
Schel attended St. Joseph Catholic Church of Olney. For many years, Schel had worked in the Receiving Department for Jewel Food Stores. She loved being a homemaker to her family and enjoyed collecting coins, especially pennies, and writing short stories.
Those left to carry on her legacy of love include: her son- Mickey Rupp and wife Pauleen of Bridgeport, IL; her daughter- Samantha Rupp of Newton, IL; one sister- Karen Davis-Thomas of Michigan; four grandchildren- Alexandria Rupp, Dustin Rupp, Natalie Strong, and Christopher Bogle; one great-grandchild- Connor Wells; and her boyfriend- Jack Koertge.
Shele was preceded in death by: her parents- Harry and Marguerite Davis; three brothers- Carl, Doug, and Bill Davis.
There are no formal services at this time. Cunningham Funeral Home of Bridgeport is assisting the family during their time of loss.
