Melissa Ann “Missy” Metz, age 52, Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2025 at Good Samaritan Hospital.
Melissa Ann “Missy” Metz, age 52, Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, July 20, 2025 at Good Samaritan Hospital. She was born on June 2, 1973 in Parkersburg, West Virginia, the daughter of Russell Darrell Metz and Alice Gaye (Brannon) Lockamy.
Missy was a medical caregiver. She enjoyed playing Bingo, Candy Crush, and similar puzzle games. Missy loved watching television shows such as Little House on the Prairie, The Waltons, and Blue Bloods. She loved spending time and playing Yahtzee with her grandma Jeannie. She loved socializing with her family and friends. Most of all, her greatest passion was her children, her grandchildren, and Tilly, her special friend and companion.
Preceding Missy in death were her parents.
Survivors include three sons: Darrell (Shelby) Metz of Lawrenceville, Illinois, Christopher (Jennifer) DeLong of Parkersburg, West Virginia, and Matthew Metz of Lawrenceville, Illinois; five grandchildren: Kennedy DeLong, Paxton Metz, Grayson DeLong, Owen DeLong, and Xander DeLong; stepmother Rita (Nathan) Inboden of Lawrenceville, Illinois; brothers Russell (Angela) Metz, Jeffery Metz, and Clyde Ray Metz; along with several extended family and friends who were very special to her.
Family and friends are invited to the home of Rita & Nathan Inboden at 14542 Old Highway 50 of Lawrenceville, Illinois for a time of reflection and remembrances. A cookout and gathering will begin at 5:00 pm on Friday, July 25, 2025 to celebrate Missy’s life.
