On Monday, September 1, 2025, Jamie Lou Andrews (73) was gracefully welcomed home by her Lord, Jesus Christ. She was born the only daughter of James Jacobsen and his wife, Ferne (Waggoner) Jacobsen.

Jamie married her soulmate, Doug Andrews, on June 5, 1971. For more than 54 years, they worked as a team to raise their two sons, Chad and Eric, and built a beautiful life together. Her sons and their families were a true joy and blessing to her.

After graduating from Bridgeport Township High School, she furthered her education at Olney Central College. Using her education, she worked at Bridgeport Grade School as a Teacher’s Aide and then as the Librarian. She retired after 18 years at BGS.

Jamie enjoyed vacationing with friends and family along with being outdoors and working in her flowers. Taco Tuesday with friends and Saturday night meals with family were always a weekly highlight. Holidays and tradition ran deep with Jamie, and she passed that along to her kids and grandkids. What she most enjoyed was her time with her grandkids and great granddaughters. The bonds between them were something special.

Jamie was classified by many as “Timeless” and the epitome of a truly genuine lady. She was a beauty inside and outside.

Her legacy of love and grace will be carried on by: her husband of 54 years- Doug Andrews of Sumner; her two sons- Chad Andrews and wife Maria of Lawrenceville and Eric Andrews and wife Jen of Sumner; one brother- John Jacobsen and wife Lynn of Sumner; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Ferne Jacobsen.

Graveside services will be held for Jamie on Friday, September 5, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. in Bridgeport City Cemetery. Cunningham Funeral Home of Bridgeport is handling the arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made Good Samaritan Hospice in appreciation of all the support they gave to Jamie and her family. Online condolences can be sent to the family at www.cunninghamfuneralhomes.com.
