Jacqueline “Jackie” Hill, age 65 of rural Lawrenceville, passed away Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital.
Jacqueline “Jackie” Hill, age 65 of rural Lawrenceville, passed away Saturday, June 7, 2025, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital. She was born October 9, 1959, at her family’s home in Bridgeport Township to James and Beckie (Hedge) Hill.
On August 27, 1976, Jackie married the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Hill. For 48 years, they raised their family of three boys and made many beautiful memories.
She was a member of the Bridgeport Wesleyan Church for many years until its closing. She then was one of the founding members of SonRise Community Church of Bridgeport. Jackie was very active within both churches as a consistent figure as well as teaching Sunday School classes.
For many years, she dedicated her career to helping those with developmental disabilities while at Hickory Estates for more than 20 years. She also worked as the Post Office janitor, a cook within the Red Hill School District, as a transportation aide with Tracey Andrews for Red Hill, and as home health aide in Fairfield. Helping community youth was important to her too. She helped at little league games and was a former Cub Scout leader.
Jackie enjoyed her time with family and friends. One of her favorite things was camping. You could find her sitting around the campfire simply enjoying the serenity or sharing that time with family and friends making memories. Attending ball games and performances to watch her children and grandchildren was a highlight for Jackie. She was an avid reader, enjoyed cooking for her family and for events, and has accumulated quite a collection of pigs and pig memorabilia.
Those left to continue Jackie’s legacy include: her husband- Robert “Bob” Hill of Lawrenceville; three sons- Charles Hill and wife Jodi of Sumner, Henry Hill and wife Tamura of Ward, AR, and Lucas Hill and wife Tonya of Bridgeport; three sisters- Sheila Hayes and husband Mike of Sumner, Bonnie Hann and husband Dale of Sumner, and Mary Ferriell and husband Jerry of Noblesville, IN; eight grandchildren- Levi Hill and wife Brelee, CJ Hill, Hannah Hill, Haelyn Hill, Matt Willoughby, Sydni Vineyard and husband Taylor, Savannah Gonzalez, and Joseph Gonzalez; three great-grandchildren- Miller, Jackson, and Avery: and her in-laws- Bill and Martha Hill.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Victor Hill.
A visitation will be held at Cunningham Funeral Home in Bridgeport from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 12, 2025. A graveside service will follow in Sumner Cemetery at 5:30 p.m.
The family requests that no flowers or potted plants be received. Instead, they ask that your memorial contributions be made to benefit one of the most important pieces of Jackie’s life, SonRise Community Church.
