Edward James Creswell, age 75, formerly of Mount Vernon, Indiana, passed away on Friday, May 9, 2025, at The Haven of Bridgeport in Bridgeport, Illinois.
Edward James Creswell, age 75, formerly of Mount Vernon, Indiana, passed away on Friday, May 9, 2025, at The Haven of Bridgeport in Bridgeport, Illinois. Edward (Ed) was born on May 22, 1949, in Los Angeles, California, to Lloyd and Kathleen (McGee) Durkee.
Ed was a veteran of the United States Airforce and served during Vietnam. Ed worked 27 years at ADM Milling as a crane operator and maintenance technician. He went on to retire from Royster Clark in 2006. After retirement, Ed and wife, Michele, relocated to Jesup, Georgia. Ed enjoyed reading, woodworking, carpentry, hunting, and playing guitar.
Preceding Ed in death were his parents; adoptive step-father (William “Bill” Creswell); wife, Michele; brothers, Joseph and Jerry Creswell.
Survivors include: two sons, Siron (Andrea) Creswell of Bridgeport, Jeremy Newton of Odum, Georgia; one daughter, Amber (Josh) Lord of Jesup, Georgia; two brothers, Kenneth (Nicole Neal) Creswell of Livingston, Tennessee, David (Donna) Creswell of Crossville, Tennessee; one sister, Barbara Bowman of Clarksville, Tennessee; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Private memorial services will be held by the family at a later date.
