David J. Ridgley, age 76, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away Thursday, January 22, 2026, at his residence.
David J. Ridgley, age 76, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away Thursday, January 22, 2026, at his residence. He was born May 23, 1949, in Vincennes, Indiana, the son of Betty Lou Ridgley. He married Patricia Gaiter April 6, 1968, and she preceded him in death on July 23, 2018.
David was employed at the Texaco Refinery and later at Duke Energy in Princeton, Indiana, where he worked until his retirement. Following retirement, he continued working at Ultimate Car Wash in Lawrenceville. David had a deep love for his canine companions — Grisley, Max, Elle, Barbie, Gunner, Buck, J.J., and Chief — who brought him great joy. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, spending time with the morning breakfast crew, and being part of his Rod & Gun Club family. Above all, David cherished the time he spent with his children and grandchildren.
Preceding David in death are his mother, Betty Ridgley and wife, Patricia Ridgley.
Survivors include: sons, David (Amy) Ridgley of Vincennes, Indiana and Paul “Rusty” (Shelley) Ridgley of Parrish, Florida; three grandchildren, Hayden Ridgley, Dane Ridgley and Sydney Ridgley.
David’s wishes were to be cremated. No formal services will be conducted.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude or Lawrence County Humane Society.
