Alta Marian Dunlap, age 84, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2025, at Good Samaritan Hospital, Vincennes, Indiana.
Alta Marian Dunlap, age 84, of Lawrenceville, Illinois, passed away Saturday, May 31, 2025, at Good Samaritan Hospital, Vincennes, Indiana. She was born February 17, 1941 in Robinson, Illinois, the daughter of Thomas M. Lake and May Bell Lake. She married Willard “Pete” J. Dunlap November 6, 1959 and he preceded her in death April 20, 1998.
Marian worked various jobs through the years including Jiffy Cleaners, Lawrence County Memorial Hospital and Wal-Mart. She loved her cat “Hazel,” Elvis’s gospel music, and hummingbirds. She was a loving mother.
Preceding Marian in death were her parents and husband.
Survivors include: three children; Gerri (John) Pinnick, of Bridgeport, Illinois, Susie (Todd) Jefferson of Lawrenceville, Illinois, and Sara Carroll of Lawrenceville, Illinois; one brother, Thomas “Buddy” Lake of Alexander, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Christy (Kelly) Emmons, Trey (Marcilyn) Hill, Meagan (Joe) Rodriguez and JayTee Pinnick; two great-grandchildren, Maggie and Ryalin.
Funeral services will be Thursday, June 05, 2025 at Emmons-Macey & Steffey Funeral Home in Lawrenceville, Illinois at 1:00 pm. Visitation will be at 12:00 pm till the service hour of 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at Cresthaven Memorial Park Cemetery.
