The Vincennes Board of Works and Safety witnessed the swearing in of a new fireman this week.
Eric Blann took the service oath from Mayor Joe Yochum Monday and formally joined the department.
Also during it's session Monday, the board took under advisement for further study and review two bids submitted for paving work in the city.
