Two people dead and multiple people sustained gunshot wounds in an incident in Greenwood Saturday.
Just after 11:30 p.m., the Greenwood Police Department responded to 966 Bent Branch Circle on a report of a person shot. Upon arrival officers located several adult males suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. One of the victims, a 38-year-old man, was transported to Methodist hospital where he was pronounced dead. On the scene a 37-year-old man was pronounced deceased and yet another male victim was transported to Eskanazi Hospital where he is listed in stable condition.
Shortly after responding to this incident Greenwood Police responded to St. Francis Hospital on a report of a person shot. Upon arrival to St. Francis officers spoke to a 23-year-old man who was suffering from a gunshot wound. That victim stated that he was shot at the 966 Bent Branch Circle location and had a friend transport him to the hospital.
Greenwood Police say the investigation has determined that there was a large birthday party being held at 966 Bent Branch Circle. At some point during the party, it is reported that two male individuals got into an argument. The two men then pulled out handguns and started shooting.
