A pair of individuals found themselves housed in the Putnam County Jail this week following a call to the Putnam County Sheriff's Office about two suspicious people.
On May 18, deputies responded to a private property west of Limedale on County Road 300 South for two suspicious individuals, who were parked. Before deputies arrived, the suspects fled in a red pickup truck and a search for them and the vehicle began immediately.
Within minutes, Deputy Derek Tomaw located the vehicle, which was hidden behind a private business. The vehicle had been abandoned with the door open. An investigation revealed the vehicle had been stolen out of Monroe County. With the help of a drone from the Putnam County CERT Team, both suspects were located hiding at a nearby residence.
Officers arrested Ricardo Duque Acosta III, of Westfield, and Krisdeona Elizabeth Parrish, of Bloomington. Following medical evaluations, both suspects were transported to the Putnam County Jail, where they were held without bond on charges of auto theft and residential entry.
Putnam County Sheriff Jerrod Baugh issued a thank you to citizens who reported the suspicious activity and provided photographs and CCTV images of the suspects.
"Their assistance played a significant role in the swift identification and apprehension of those involved," Baugh said.
The Putnam County Sheriff's Department was assisted by the Greencastle Police Department, Indiana State Police, Indiana Conservation Officers and Putnam County CERT.
